Newt Gingrich News is dedicated to bringing you the
most recent information on the man and campaign of
Newt Gingrich... as he attempts to march towards the
White House in 2012.
Newt Gingrich was the designer of the "Contract With America" back in 19994 when the Republicans were
able to take control of the House for the first time in 40 years! Newt Gingrich became "Speaker of the House"
and has garnered all of the experience that goes with one of the most important positions in the United
States.
With Newt Gingrich at the helm, Congress was able to pass a balanced budget bill, which had not been done
in many years... Congress also cut taxes for the first time in almost 20 years and reformed welfare... which
was directly responsible for getting countless Americans off of the welfare rolls and into jobs or schools.
Newt Gingrich has vast experience and has certainly proved that he has the kind of creative thinking
needed to lead America back to greatness!
Newt Stays On Top After Latest Debate...
Newt Gingrich kept his cool and stayed on top of the Republican list of candidates Thursday night. He took hits, he had a little explaining to do, but
he came through looking stronger than ever, after an exceptional second half of the debate.
Michelle Bachman was after Newt Gingrich from the start. This was her final stand before Iowa, and she decided to go on the attack rather than
concentrate on her own views. Did it work? A little. I think Newt Gingrich got just a bit rattled and put back on his heels for a moment... not so
much because he didn't know how to handle her, but I don't think he was sure what the right strategy he should use to keep her at bay.
Others also attacked Newt to a lesser degree. Ron Paul has been attacking Newt Gingrich hard in Iowa in commercials on television. He attacked
Newt again just a bit, but seemed to sink under his own weight when it came to foreign policy, specifically, Iran.
Newt is at his best when he is framing his questions with the backdrop of history. He is fascinating to listen to when you hear him talking about and
giving examples about other times and how it applies to todays situations.
Newt Gingrich remains strong, in the lead and doing well. Now the question is, can he hold it now that the debates are over for awhile. For now, its
back to a traditional campaign, no more debates. Does he have ground game in Iowa? Did he peak too early? Does he have enough money in his
campaign to fight with his own television ads against the smears that are happening now and that will surely increase over the next few week?
Newt Gingrich is in control of his own destiny, to some degree. It's Newt vs Mitt... with Michelle Bachman and Rick Perry waiting in the wings in case
either of them faulter. This is an exciting time for Newt Gingrich and the next few weeks will determine whether or not his campaign can take the
next step into turning these good poll numbers into actual votes... we'll find out soon!

Latest Newt Gingrich News:
The Iowa Caucus is over and the news is that Newt Gingrich
finished in 4th place. What does that mean? Well, its certainly
not the finish that Newt was looking for, but it more than keeps
him in the race.
In the big scheme of things, Iowa does not determine the
President of the United States... having said that, a win is a
win; or in Rick Santorum's case, a 2nd place finish is a win!
Newt Gingrich was hurt by the attack ads... massive attack ads
that were relentless and telling on his popularity. Newt has to
come out swinging immedialtely to have a chance. While it's nice
to run a positive campaign, we all saw just how powerful
"negative" can really be. Most Americans don't examine the
facts... it seems just the accusation alone is enough to
influence public opinion if people hear it often enough.
No matter what we say, Newt Gingrich was slammed by the ads;
and to top it off, there were no debates recently so he was
limited in the amount that he could directly challenge those
assertions.
Newt Gingrich must now wake up from his "positive" campaign
strategy and tackly this head-on. He can easily fall into the
same trap (and fate) that McCain did in the last election... by
playing Mr. Nice Guy... feeling good about himself but not doing
any damn good for the country!
Newt Gingrich doesn't have to go totally negative, but he does
have to adamently defend himself and more than that, show
that there is a price to pay when someone attacks by letting
everyone know in no uncertain terms that they have "issues" as
well.
It's the same principle as the military... peace through
strength... Newt Gingrich first has to establish himself as
someone who is not to be "messed" with and to do that, he will
have to forcefully go after Mitt Romney, in ads, in live
appearances and most of all in any upcoming debates!
